Magic & Mind-Reading Workshop
1hr to 1.5hrs Activity - (suitable for 1 – 60 guests - Indoors or Outdoors)
The art of conjuring and the practice of magic is one of the oldest theatrical skills around, dating back to well before the Egyptians. It evolved during a time when perceived power over objects and natural phenomena led to great power over people. Our fun based team building workshops involve a professional magician(s) teaching your group how to perform a number of selected tricks. You will learn the psychology, techniques and methods used in creating the extraordinary visual effects used by professionals. Delegates will gain first-hand experience in planning, analysing and adopting professional magic effects... Discover how easy it is to stimulate, motivate and energize your audience's reaction.

The programme develops interpersonal confidence and is ideal as an ice-breaker at events. The skills and tricks taught are highly entertaining, and can be taken away to impress family and friends.
Typical Itinerary
- Welcome introduction and brief history of magic.
- The magician(s) will demonstrate a quick mind magic trick involving the whole group.
- Guests are given their first trick
- After a full demonstration guests are given the chance to practice in pairs.
- Guests are given their second trick
- A final group trick from the magician(s).
- Debrief and prize giving.
- Guests leave with their new found magic skills and tricks.
Trick One ‘The Bill Switch!
A currency note of any denomination is borrowed from a friend, spectator or colleague. (For example a £10 note) The serial number is memorised before it is folded in half, in half again, and then once more before it is unfolded to reveal it is now not only a different denomination, but also an entirely different currency for example $50. This new note is folded as before to reveal the original note again. (The serial number can be checked) Any currency note can be used and changed into any other.
Trick Two ‘The Cups & Balls
This is the oldest and most recognisable magic trick in the world. The effect known as acetabula et calculi is thought to have started the modern day fascination with magic 2000 years ago when the Romans were recorded performing it. The effect is simple, a spectator has to guess whether the ball is under the cup, or in the performers pocket. After failing on a number of occasions the stakes are raised, this time the spectator answers correctly, only to discover that this time they couldn’t be wrong, as the cup is now impossibly full. Once the basics have been mastered, this effect can be performed with any cup and ball (small item)
