Raft Building & Dragon Boat Racing
Our team at Horseshoe Lake in Sandhurst, Berkshire has a wealth of experience designing activity programmes that are tailor-made to meet the requirements of the individual or group. We can provide private tuition, one off taster sessions, progressive weekly courses, multi-activity packages, teambuilding programmes or something completely different.
Example Schedule
12.45pm - Guests arrive and are greeted by Firebird event manager - coffee / tea on arrival.
1.00pm - Event manager gives afternoon introduction.
1.15pm - Raft Build Challenge commences - Raft Building is an exciting team-building activity. Build your own raft and test those knot tying skills, then race it on the lake! This activity uses ropes, wooden spars and plastic barrels to test initiative, develop leadership skills and encourage co-operation and teamwork.
3.15pm - Raft Build Challenge ends.
3.15pm - Refreshment break.
3.45pm - Dragon Boating or Sailing - Dragon boating is a popular activity. These Chinese-style boats take between 16 and 20 paddlers and are steered by a qualified helm who will provide all necessary training. Buoyancy aids must be worn but this activity is programmed as a ‘'dry' session... splashing excepted! We recommend a minimum group size of 12 per boat to provide exciting racing! Even the least competitive members of your crew will want to reach that finishing line first!
5.45pm - Activities end.
5.50pm - Team debrief.
6.00pm - Guests depart after an action packed event Instructors follow the guidelines laid down by the British Dragon Boat Racing Association.
